Russell H. Clemmer, Jr., 92, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Calhoun Convalescent Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Four Holes Baptist Church in Orangeburg. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Tom McElhaney, Rev. Wayne Golden and Rev. Jim Parnell will be officiating.
Mr. Clemmer was born on April 27, 1925 in Laurens, S.C. He was the son of the late Russell H. Clemmer, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Carter Clemmer. He was a graduate of Clemson College. He joined the United States Army and was a pilot in The United States Air Corps. Mr. Clemmer was the General Manager of Orangeburg Tractor Supply for numerous years. He was the Grand Master of the Masons as well as the Past Worthy Grand Patron of the S.C. Eastern Star. He was a very faithful and active member of Four Holes Baptist Church in Orangeburg where he was a past deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret H. Clemmer; son, Russell H. Clemmer III (Tommie) of Blufton; daughter, Linda Adams (Joseph) of Hilton Head; three step-daughters, Elaine Golden (Rev. Wayne) of St. Matthews, Deryl Parnell (Rev. Jim) of Orangeburg and Sue Crapse (David) of Orangeburg; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Jack Clemmer of Ridgeland.
A Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
