Russell P. Wood , 90 of Cope (Formerly of Orangeburg) died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Agape Hospice House in Columbia.

The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 569 Berry St., Orbg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg Rev. Billy Williams and Rev. Kevin Sprague officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg

Pallbearers will be his Grandsons Honorary Pallbearers will be the Sr. Adult Sunday School Class

Mr. Russell was born August 13, 1924 in Ola, SC; the son of the late William Preston Wood and the late Mattie Sanders Wood. He was a member of Memorial Church of the Nazarene and the Sr. Adult Sunday School Class. He was retired from The Oaks. He was preceded in death by a son, William Robert Wood, Sr.; 2 sisters Zoraida Creech and Gertie Padgett; also by a brother; William Robert Wood and a half brother, Norman Wood.

Survivors include his wife; Mrs. Vera Mae Baltzegar Wood of Cope; 5 daughters; Mrs. Dean (Glenda Dale) Sanders; Mrs. Willie (Betty) Sanders of Williston; Mrs. Ken (Shirley) Payton of Cope; Mrs. Robert (Kathy) Lovern of Cordova and Ms. Sylvia Wood of Cope; 1 sister; Dorothy Hair of Barnwell, SC; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of Dean and Dale Sanders in Cope and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Memorial Church of the Nazarene; 569 Berry Street; Orangeburg.
