Ruth Ann (Bloyd) Dixon

Ruth Ann (Bloyd) Dixon, 89, went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, after a brief illness.

Ruth was born on July 17, 1935, in Greensburg, Kentucky.  After completing high school, she graduated with a Business degree from Western Kentucky University, after graduating she lived in a boarding house for 2 years which was located in Richmond, Virginia.  She met and fell in love with Roland Dixon, Jr. in 1959 in Richmond, VA.  They were married on June 10, 1961.  Living in multiple cities, Alexandria, VA, Winchester, VA and Waynesboro, PA.  Their son was born in 1967 while in Winchester.  They moved to Elizabethtown, KY and lived there until 2013.  In 2013 they moved to the Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg, S.C.

Ruth enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing the piano, being a homemaker, sewing, hosting parties, dancing, playing card games with friends, family vacations and visiting with friends.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, Roland Lowell Dixon, Jr., daughter-in-law, Crystal D. Dixon and her granddaughters, Kaitlyn A.L. Dixon, Emily R.M. Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Bloyd and Marie Perkins Bloyd, a son, Christopher Lowell Dixon and a sister, Adena Richardson.
