Ruth M. Geddings, 103of St. Matthews died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Calhoun Convalescent Center in St Matthews.
The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, October 20, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Congaree Baptist Church Cemetery near St. Matthews with Rev. Don Reams Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Propst, Bob Propst, Caleb Propst, Mike Headden, James Arant, Ryan Cody, Robby Carroll and Sean Cody.
She was born July 30, 1911 in Orangeburg County, SC; the daughter of the late Sylvester L. Yancey and the late Mary Kemmerlin Yancey. She was retired from Amblers Industries and Hamricks. She was a a member of Mispah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death buy her first husband, Charlie H. Carter and was the widow of the late Connor Geddings. She was preceded in death by a son, Dupre Carter and great grandson, Jack Riley.
SURVIVORS include 3 children; Mrs. Lila Headden, Mrs. Effie Inabinet, Ms. Billie Carter, and Charlie (Tommy) Carter, Jr.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Joseph and Lila Headden; 2456 Ft. Motte Road; St. Matthews and at the funeral home.
