Samuel Eugene Walters

Samuel Eugene Walters, 75,  passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Providence Health in Columbia.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Northgate Baptist Church in Orangeburg.  Rev. Tant Ehrhardt and Rev. Kermit Shrawder will be officiating.

Mr. Walters was born on October 27, 1942 in St. George, S.C.  He was the son of the late Sam Virgil Walters and the late Pearl Walters.  He attended Wingate College after graduating from St. George High School in 1960.  Mr. Samuel was the founder of the Attic Frame Shop which opened in 1981.  He was a former employee of Piggly Wiggly in the produce department and was previously employed for fifteen years at the Ethyl Corporation.  He loved his family, dogs, working in his garden and watching college football and baseball.

Survivors include his wife Betty Arant Walters; daughters, Sharon and Clark Whetstone of Moncks Corner, Tamara and David Stack of St. Matthews; step-children, Michele Blanton of Monroe, N.C., Ricky Cain (Tammy) of Orangeburg, Clint Cain of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Samuel Blake Whetstone, Kara Denise Whetstone, Jesse Stack, Dodd Stack, Spencer Blanton, Josh Blanton, Aaron Cain; sister, Nancy and Jim Breland, beloved pets, Rebel, Louie, Chance, Charley and a number of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 prior to the memorial service.
