Sandra Lee Bonham (Moore), born on May 5, 1945, in Bamberg, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Sandra was 80 years old.
Born to Johnnie J. Moore and Eva Mae (Bessinger) Moore, Sandra grew up in a close knit family in South Carolina. Throughout her life, Sandra remained deeply connected to her roots and cherished the bonds formed during those early years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Eva Moore along with her brothers Donald Moore, John Robert Moore, and Johnnie G. Moore.
Her long and dedicated career was spent working at Bamberg Hospital. Where she worked for decades. She ended her career under Dr. Ross at Orangeburg Regional Hospital. Where she served with compassion and commitment. Her work touched many lives and left a lasting impression on those she cared for.
Sandra's life was centered around love for family and a passion for the outdoors. She found joy in camping, trips under the stars and exploring new places through travel. These experiences brought her closer to nature and created lasting memories with loved ones.
Sandra leaves behind a devoted family who will carry forward her legacy of warmth and resilience. Her children Wendy (Lee) Wood and William David Bonham were a constant source of pride.
Sandra’s grandchildren Krystal (Jamie) Bearden, Ashley (Johnny) Carson, and Olivia (Kryee) Hunnicutt brought immense joy into her life. The next generations continued that joy with her great-grandchildren Kayln Bearden, Jamie (Andrew) Bearden, Everley Crider, Alaysia (Danielle) Carson, Alyssa (Dalton) Carson, Adalin Hunnicutt, Ellie Hunnicutt, Kaldr Hunnicutt, and Kairi Hunnicutt.
Sandra also welcomed a great-great-grandson, Zayden Bearden.
Sandra is also remembered fondly by her sisters Bonnie (Moore) Allen, Florence (Moore) Osborne, Sarah (Moore) Whatley and Sharon Moore. Many nieces and nephews also mourn the loss of someone who held a special place in their lives.
Sandra’s love for the outdoors mirrored the openness with which she embraced life always ready for an adventure or a quiet moment under the sky. Her travels were not just journeys across miles but opportunities to connect with others and experience the world with wonder.
The family will have a private ceremony at a later time and date.
