Sandra Lynn (Sanders) Rast

Sandra Lynn Sanders Rast, 82, of Bowman passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, with her family by her side.

Sandra was born in Bamberg County.  She was the daughter of the late William and Mattie Dell Linn Sanders.  She loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of Bowman First Baptist Church.  Once she retired, she was able to do things that brought her so much joy.  She worked in her yard, she loved reading; she would travel to the beach; and she took frequent trips to her granddaughter’s home in Virginia.  She was a loving wife, mother, “grandma” and great grandma.  Her memory will continue to live in the heart of those she loved.

Survivors include her son, Walter “Guy” Rast, Sr. (Beverly) of Arizona; grandchildren, Lori Gardner (Mary) of Virginia, Walter “Guy” Rast, Jr. (Zandra), Melissa Rast, Jennifer Rast (Chuck), DeeDee Rast, Coty Nix; great-grandchildren, Kira Webber, Hayden Webber, Makayla Webber, Gavin McCoy, Joseph Rast, Jase Rast, Natalie Rast, Bailey McCoy, Hailey Pinola, Will Pinola, Chloe Pinola, Carter Lamb, Astrid Lamb, Noah Nix, Navadine` Banuelos, Nia Banuelos; sisters, Ann Matheny (Danny), Debbie Crider (Johnny) and a number of nieces, nephews and additional family and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Rast, and a son, Robert L. Rast.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Bowman First Baptist Church, 6605 Charleston Hwy, Bowman.  Pastor Steve Scott will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Bowman Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Bowman First Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.
