Sidney Miles Mixon, Jr.

Sidney Miles Mixon, Jr., 62, of Orangeburg passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at Myers Family Cemetery in the Canaan Community.  Rev. Alan Woodward will be officiating.

Sidney was born on November 28, 1961, in Norfolk, VA.  He was the son of the late Sidney M. Mixon and the late Mary Myers Dunning.

Sidney had a love of music and a heart for Jesus.  His smile would light up any room.  He had a love for life that was contagious.  He will live on in the heart of his family and friends.

Survivors include his sisters, Patricia Rowland (Dale) of Charleston, Sandra Craven of Summerville; brothers, Ernie L. Mixon of Moncks Corner, Jeff Mixon (Paige) of Orangeburg, Kenneth Mixon of Orangeburg, Michael Mixon (Debbie) of Harleyville; nieces and nephews, Sharon Mersereau, Will Mersereau (Whitney), Brittany Warncke (Eric), Candice Boylan, Nick Craven (Kendall), David Mixon, Ricky Mixon, Robert Mixon, Tiffany Mixon, Jeffrey Mixon, Jr. (Wren), Kelley Stiles (Ben), Loribeth Craven (Jordan), Claire Craven (Mae), Kinard Craven, Chelsea Mixon, Jason Herron, Zachary Mixon and a number of great-nieces, great-nephews and additional friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Dustin Mixon and a brother-in-law, Donald Craven.
