Thelma Murphy Brunson

Thelma Murphy Brunson, 89 of 58 Eugenia Court, Cordova died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at her residence.

***The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service*** Funeral Services will be held 2:30 P.M. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg with Rev. Shane Stutzman and Rev. Jim Parnell officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Marcus W. Barnes II, Johnny Barnes, Jr., Alex Barnes, Wesley Fogle, Matthew Fogle, and Cody Fleener.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Barnes, Austin Goodwin, Hank McCollum, Moses Cutter, Clarence Hiott, Ricky Fleener, and Travis Dawson.

Mrs. Brunson was born September 8, 1925 in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late C. L. Murphy and the late Dallas Boltin Murphy .She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late John P. (Sonny Boy) Brunson; they were retired from Sonny's Bait and Tackle Shop.

Survivors include two daughters; Janice Marie and W.F. Jackson of Cameron and Mildred Yvonne Barnes of Cordova; a son; Johnny and Sandra Brunson of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Marcus W. and Renee Barnes, Sr. of Rock Hill, Johnny W. Barnes, Dana Dawn Armstrong all of Cordova; Jody Lyn Brunson of Okla,.; Dena Brunson, Tina and Hank McCollum all of Orangeburg; Great grandchildren; Marcus W. Barnes, II of Bamberg, Alex D. Barnes of Rock Hill, Ashelyn Wolfe of Orangeburg, Summer Lee Barnes of Cordova, Amy Brunson of Okla.,,Johnny W. Barnes, Jr, Paige Barnes both of Cordova, Matthew Brunson of Orangeburg, Wesley Fogle of Neeses, Matthew Fogle of Orangeburg; great great grand, Alley Ray of Cordova; two special friends; Lou Ellen Aultman of Cordova and Christy McCormick of Bamberg

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
