Those fortunate enough to know Theresa saw the devotion she showed her family.
With heavy hearts and loving memories, the family of Theresa Harley announces her passing on Monday, July 6, 2026, after bravely facing illness. Born on January 18, 1963, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Theresa brought warmth, compassion, and steadfast love into the world and to everyone she met.
Theresa’s life was a testament to her caring spirit and resilience. Raised in Orangeburg under the loving care of her parents, Joe Horsey and Rose Marie Horsey Brazal, she grew to embody the values of kindness and strength. Her journey was shaped not only by her mother and father but further enriched by the supportive presence of her stepfather, Gary Brazal, who survives her and remained a guiding figure throughout her life.
Those fortunate enough to know Theresa saw the devotion she showed her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Grover Harley. Together, they created a home filled with warmth where their son, Joshua G. Harley, grew and flourished under her attentive guidance and encouragement. Theresa’s nurturing love also touched the lives of her cherished nieces and nephews, whose memories of time spent with their aunt will forever be illuminated by her wisdom, humor, and gentle touch.
Theresa’s journey cannot be fully told without remembering the enduring bonds she shared with family members who preceded her in death including her sister, Linda Jackson. Those bonds they built continue through the legacy she leaves with her family.
Theresa possessed a rare ability to warm a room with her presence, to offer comfort with just a smile, and to support her loved ones in ways both big and small. Her capacity for empathy and her quiet strength earned her a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.
As we say goodbye, family and friends are invited to remember Theresa and celebrate her life at the visitation taking place at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. at 1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115, on Thursday, July 10, 2026, between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. The funeral service, also at Thompson Funeral Home, will follow at 2:00 p.m. Theresa will be laid to rest at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC 29118, later that day.
Although we grieve her loss, we shall remember the love, generosity, and indelible memories she gifted so freely. Theresa’s legacy lives on within her family, her friends, and all who felt her unwavering compassion. As we gather to honor her, may we find comfort in one another and in the knowledge that her spirit endures—beloved, remembered, and cherished always.
