Timmie Lee Rucker

Timmie Rucker, 69, of Dorchester, S. C. passed away Saturday, 30, 2023, after an extended illness.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Sunnyside Cemetery, 601 Summers Ave., N. E., Orangeburg, S. C. with military honors. Pastor Steve Rucker will be officiating.

Mr. Rucker was born in Orangeburg, S. C. to the late Heyward Rucker and late Ruth Faulkner Rucker. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Timmie was a true outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother Walter’s companion, Kimberly Temple.

Survivors include his son, Michael Lee Rucker (Amber); a daughter, Janie Ruth Mucci (Craig); siblings, Jimmy Rucker (Kat), Rev. Steve Rucker (Carrie), Virginia Millwood (Larry), Walter Rucker; three grandchildren; his aunt, Louise Proveaux; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank his Hospice caregivers, Janie Byrd and Martha Harrelson for their love, care, and support for the last three years.
