The Casket will be placed in the church one hour

before the service.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM

Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Crestview Baptist

Church in Orangeburg with burial at

Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg

with Rev. James Preveaux directed by

Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Soles, Boyd Miller, Jason Hamilton,

Noah Blanchard, Ray Hendon, Matthew Blanchard, David Smith

and Howard O’Cain.

He was born October 2, 1927 in Columbus County, NC; the son of

the late Austin Dewey Soles and the late Sally Mae Nobles Soles.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict

serving from 1952 to 1954. He was retired from Edisto Gas Company

after 22 years of service. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; Ruby Lee Marlowe Soles of Cordova, SC;

2 daughters; Katie Lynn Hendon of Savannah, GA and Karen Jo Porter

of Sumter, SC; 1 son; Joseph Michael Soles of South Carolina; 4 grand-

children; 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother; Curtis Lee Soles of Chadborn,

NC; 3 sisters; Leila Mae Thompson of Whiteville, NC; Nancy Blackmon

of Chadborn, NC and Connie Louise Tyree of Tabor City, NC.

Friends may call at the residence; 184 Kennerly Road; Cordova

and at the funeral home.

VISITATION WILL BE HELD 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, April 4, 2014 at

Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
