Vernon William McGugan, Sr., 72 died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at his home in North.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.
He was born March 28, 1940 in Chesterfield County, SC; the son of the late Make McGugan and the late Viola Steen McGugan. He was a retired Pastor. He was a member of St. Matthews Church of God of Prophecy. He was the widower of the late Lillian Morris McGugan and was preceded in death by a brother; Ellis McGugan.
Survivors include 2 daughters; Linda (David)Parris of Orangeburg; Mary (Mark) Baker of North; 3 sons; Vernon Ricky (Carolyn) McGugan of Orangeburg; Randy (Susie) McGugan of North; Vernon McGugan, Jr. of Orangeburg; 10 grandchildren; Allison Robinson, Chris McGugan, Justin McGugan, Christen Waddell, Andrew McGugan, Kayla Baker, Brook Baker, Devin McGugan, Hayden McGugan and Jordan McGugan; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; Rev. Glenn C. (Sandra) McGugan of Columbia; Rev. Billy C. (Jean) McGugan of Bowman; 1 sister; Elizabeth (Willy) Inman of Orangeburg.
Friends may call at the residence of David and Linda Parris; 4773 Edgewood Drive; Orangeburg and at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
