Vonnell (Harley) Pensel

Vonnell Harley Pensel, 89, of Bradford Village, Santee passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, with her family by her side.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg.  Pastor Randall Pope will be officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.

Ms. Pensel was born in Orangeburg County on November 23, 1935.  She was the daughter of the late Brady Harley and the late Mildred Williams Harley.  After high school she served her country in the United States Air Force.  She worked for many years at Roses Cafeteria and other food service positions.  She was a lifelong member of Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg where she raised her sons to follow the love of Jesus Christ.  She loved her family dearly but always said “we were beyond her comprehension.”  She loved visiting those whom she called “her senior citizens” and she would always bake them cookies and pecan pies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and brother-in-law, James and Betty Davis.

Survivors include her sons, John Adam Pensel (Elizabeth), Daniel Brady Pensel (Teresa); grandchildren, Leslie McCollum, Daniel Brady Pensel, Jr. (Brittany), Ryan Derrick Pensel (Autumn), Laura Ann Pensel; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Derrick, Dustin, Cheyanne, Daniel “Ty”, Mason, Kali; great-great grandchild, Logan and a number of additional family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
