Walter L. Smoak, Sr. , 67 of 500 Kennerly Road; Cordova died Monday November 18, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Rev. Ryan Tucker officiating. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.
He was born November 18, 1946 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of the late Hampton Dibble Smoak and the late Eva Dean Stevenson Smoak. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was retired from Piggly Wiggly. He was a loving father and grandfather and he loved his old cars.
Survivors include his wife; Nancy Smoak of the home; his children; Lee (Jeff) Ashe of Orangeburg; Walter (Cindy) Smoak of Orangeburg; Tonya (Jimmy) Gleaton of Lexington; grandchildren; Kristan, Wil, Brandon, Bailey, Chanse and Anistyn; 2 brothers; Billy (Gail) Smoak of Blythwood; Tommy (Beverly) Smoak of Cordova; 1 sister; Shirley (Gerald) Williamson of Cordova and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at his residence; 500 Kennerly Road, Cordova and at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
