Walter M. Sweezy
August 11, 1920 — July 12, 2016
Walter M. Sweezy, 95, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Lexington Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg. Rev. Jonathon Pearson will be officiating.
Mr. Sweezy was born on August 11, 1920 in Abbeville, S.C. He was the son of the late Martin Sweezy and the late Cleo Lawton Sweezy. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Sweezy was retired from UTC after 30 years of service. He was predeceased by his wife Blanche Parker Sweezy.
Survivors include his special family, Tommy and Cissy Robinson; a daughter, Karen Bistler; step-daughters, Kathy and Lonnie Rolls, Sherry and Jim Lane and Tina Taylor; step-sons, Jody and Dottie McDaniel and Doug McDaniel; a number of grandchildren.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Orangeburg Meals on Wheels and St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Orangeburg.
