Wayne D. Goodwin, 66 of 1305 Columbia Road, Orangeburg died Tuesday morning May 20, 2014 at his residence. The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Northside Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, May 23, 2014 at Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg with The Rev. Dr. Shane Stutzman was Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Northside Baptist Church He was born February 1, 1948 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of Janie Waltz Goodwin and the late D. Lonnie Goodwin. He was a teacher at Bamberg Middle School for over 40 years and a member of the Palmetto Teacher's Association; also a former Associate of JC Penney for over 40 years. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and the Organist. Survivors include his Mother; Mrs. Janie W. Goodwin of Orangeburg; 1 brother; Danny Goodwin of Orangeburg; 1 sister; Sandra (David) Abstance of Chapin; 2 nephews; David L. (Mitzi) Abstance III of Columbia; Joseph (Kathryn) Abstance of Chapin; 4 great nephews and 2 great nieces.
