William Chevalette Wolfe, Iii

William Chevalette Wolfe, III, 82, of Wolfton, South Carolina, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Lexington Medical Center after an illness. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at the Limestone Methodist Church in Wolfton, South Carolina with the Rev. Don Studabaker officiating. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 P.M. Sunday before the services in the Fellowship Building at Limestone Methodist "Church, directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Mr. Bill Wolfe was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on December 27, 1931 to William Chevalette Wolfe, Jr. and Lois Kennedy Wolfe. Raised in Orangeburg, Wolfe graduated from Orangeburg High School. Following his father's footsteps, Wolfe attended the University of South Carolina. eventually transferring to the Presbyterian College. While at Presbyterian, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Upon graduating from Presbyterian in 1955, Wolfe served in the United States Navy. After the completion of his military service, he worked for the South Carolina Department of Education. Throughout his life and retirement, Wolfe tended to his family farm in Wolfton, South Carolina. A small community outside of Orangeburg settled by his family. Bill took great pride in his community and enjoyed many happy years as a farmer. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing on his family property his entire life, most recently alongside his faithful companion Samson, his beloved English Golden Retriever. Wolfe was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Orangeburg, where he taught Sunday School. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and he was Kiwanian of the Year, 1992-1993. For many years, he also served the state as a constable.

Most importantly, Wolfe was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Mary king "Bootsie" Wolfe, three daughters, Debbie (Steve) Dyer, Mary Paige (Dave) Damm, and Kathy (John) Hydrick, five grandchildren, Ben Wylie, Mary Shaw Wylie, Thomas Hydrick, Liza Theiling and Emily Albright, one great-grandchild, Grady Theiling and Sammy Inabinet, whom he loved as a son.

The family wished to extend special thanks to Doctors-Rob Malanuk, Amy Epps, and Jeff Travis and the caring staff of Lexington Medical Center.
