Wilton Cromer Gleaton

December 19, 1944 — March 8, 2015

Wilton Cromer Gleaton , 70 of Cordova, SC entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 8, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Springfield Cemetery with Rev. Larry Williams and Rev. Billy Williams directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Brian Gleaton, Gordon Turner, Brad Ingram, Cecil Gilyard, Dwayne Gleaton and Dickey Gleaton

Mr. Gleaton was born December 19, 1944 in Springfield, SC; he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Gleaton. He served in the Army Reserves for 7 years before becoming the owner and operator of a logging business and a farmer. He was a member of the SC Timber Producers Association. Wilton enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald and a sister, Mary Jane Milliken.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sarah Ingram Gleaton of the home;sons; Wilton "Rowdy" (Linda) Gleaton, Jr.; Thomas (Connie) Gleaton; Sisters, Dorothy Farris, Nancy (George) Hutto, Sarah Davis, Lynn (Charles) Browne; brother; Tommy (Ovila), David, John (Patai), Joe (Michelle). He was blessed with 3 grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Taylor and Matthew. He has numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his four legged buddy, J.D.

Friends may call at the residence; 431 Dry Swamp Road; Cordova, SC and at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
