Charles Robert Murphy, 68, of Norway passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 2740 Broughton Street Orangeburg. Bishop Greg Redmond will be officiating with burial will immediately follow at the Norway Cemetery 5821 Norway Road, Norway, SC 29113 directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Mark Dukes, Donald Johnson, Brad Johnson, Dr. Amit Sanghi, Peter Hovestadt and Charles Banks.

Mr.Murphy was born on June 12, 1950 in Orangeburg. He was the son of the late William Nathan Murphy (Red) and the late Elizabeth Brunson Murphy. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth H. Murphy of the home; children, Kim (Donald) Johnson of Orangeburg; Elizabeth (Beckie) Felder of North; Authina (Tina) Murphy (Dr. Amit Sanghi) of Columbia; Mark Dukes (Tammy) of Norway, Sheila Davis (Bob) of Rock Hill, Todd Williams (Angie) of St. George; 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
