Dorothy W. Mitchum

Dorothy W. Mitchum, 93, widow of the late Carmen Watson Mitchum of 2306 Riverbank Drive, Orangeburg, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.  Rev. Will Harper will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Rinken Sutcliffe, Greg Sutcliffe, Lynn  Stack, Matt Hines, Hunter Sutcliffe and Tommy Rickenbaker.

Mrs. Mitchum was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Joseph Williams and the late Ruby Smith Williams Huff.  Mrs. Mitchum was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bland Lee Watkins, Jr. and a step-father, Sidney Huff.

She is survived by a son, James B. Watkins (Carolyn) of Eutawville and a daughter, Ann Lyerly (Lindsey) of Lexington; five grandchildren, Rinken Sutcliffe (Molly), Shannon Hines (Matt) both of Lexington, Greg Sutcliffe of Orangeburg, Terry Stack (Lynn) and Tina Rigden both of Eutawville; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
