Evelyn “Marie” Haddock, 68, of Cordova passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, March 18, 2022, after a brief illness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg. Captain Kellie Cantrell will be officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service.
Mrs. Haddock was born on August 23, 1953, in Orangeburg. She was the daughter of the late Rudolph Haddock and the late Irine Boltin Haddock. She worked for many years with the Salvation Army. Mrs. Haddock enjoyed drinking coffee in the early morning and ginger-ale in the afternoon all while wearing her flip-flops. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved being a “Nana.”
Survivors include her son, Gregory A. Goodwin, Sr.; grandchildren, Harley Goodwin (Joshua Merrick), Victoria “Raven” Still (Frankie), Gregory Goodwin, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Noah Merrick, Emmett Merrick, Emily Merrick, Gabriel Still, Michael Still, Addison Still; sisters, Edith Malpass (John), Carolyn Gibson and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice and especially Diane for their love and care of Mrs. Haddock for the last few weeks.
