George W. Weathers, Jr., 100 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Bowman Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mr. Weathers was born on December 30, 1922, in Orangeburg County. He was the son of the late George Weathers, Sr. and the late Gladys Shuler Weathers. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member of Bowman Southern Methodist Church. Mr. Weathers was the Co-Owner and Operator of Weathers Farms in Bowman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Weathers, daughter, Dr. Susan W. Floyd, son, George W. Weathers, III, brother, Lawrence Weathers and a sister, Virginia Thompson.
Survivors include his son, James “Jimmy” D. Weathers of Bowman; grandchildren, Stacey Walter, Dr. James Floyd, Dr. Scott Floyd, Adam Weathers; seven great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Dr. Lane Floyd and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of C.M. Tucker Facility for their loving care and support of Mr. Weathers.
