Harry "H.O." O'Bannon Diamond

Harry “H.O.” O’Bannon Diamond, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at Beaver Creek Baptist Church, 181 Iris Ln, Neeses.  Rev. Alan Woodward will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 15, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Diamond was born in Beaufort, S.C. to the late Harry O. Diamond, Sr. and the late Grace Bruner Diamond.  He was employed with Orangeburg County for over twenty-two years until his retirement.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shrimping.  He truly was an outdoorsman.  “H.O.” loved to talk and joke around.  He never met a stranger.  His pride and joy was his family and being a “Papa” to his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary Diamond and a number of brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his twin sons, Ronnie Diamond and Donnie Diamond; daughter, Buffy Tyler; grandchildren, Jeffrey O’Bannon Tyler, Amanda Michelle Tyler; great-grandchildren, Mason O’Bannon Tyler, Blakelyn Rose Miller, Dawson Levi Tyler; a special nephew, Hugh Diamond; his fur baby “Killer” and an additional number of family and friends.
