Harvey was born in Richland County, SC to Willie Alfred Ford and Mable Haltawanger Ford He was of strong Christian faith. Harvey loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. He loved to tell stories. He never met a stranger.

Harvey leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Patricia (Mark); son, Eugene (Kathy deceased); daughter, Georgette (deceased); daughter, Vickie (John); daughter, Jennifer (Steve); daughter, Jeannette (Billy); son, William; 15 beautiful grandchildren; 16 beautiful great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; 2 brothers (deceased) and many friends; close friends Gloria and Bobby.
