Obituary

John Evans Williamson, 81, of Orangeburg passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg.  Entombment will follow with military honors.  Dr. Billy Hurst will be officiating.

Mr. Williamson was born in Bamberg County.  He was the son of the late Evans Williamson and the late Mary Headden Williamson.  He served his country in the United States Army.  He was a jack of all trades and worked many years as a handy man.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Williamson, a sister, Eloise Carson and nieces, Diane Bozard, Kandee Martin.

Survivors include his nieces, DeeDee Martin of Orangeburg, Julie Mack (Dusty) of Cope; great-nieces, Tammy Turner (Ashley) of Lexington, Tori Peeples (Blake); great-nephews, Jack Cheung, David Martin (Valerie), Jacob Bozard, Jay Polin (Courtney); friend and caregiver, Anna Leviner and many additional family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231.
