Johnny J. Harley

Johnny Jerome Harley, 73, of Orangeburg passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 after fighting a courageous battle with leukemia.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home, Chapel in Orangeburg with Pastor Greg Butler and R. L. Ziegler, III officiating. Burial will follow at Four Holes Baptist Church, 1622 Four Holes Rd, Orangeburg, SC 29115.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Randy Boland, Rick Sexton, Corey Browning, Joey Browning, and Jeffrey Browning.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Men Kenneth Hinkle Sunday School Class from Four Holes Baptist Church.

Mr. Harley was born on July 30, 1946 in Orangeburg.  He was the son of the late Boyce Harley and the late Kathleen Caddin Harley.  He was retired from Greenwood Mills and Husqvarna.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved his church family. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his home grown vegetables with his friends and community.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Rachel Hancock Harley;  daughter, Rhonda Browning (Tim); son, Bryan Harley (Georgeanna); six grandchildren, Joey Browning, Corey Browning, Jeffrey Browning (Leslie), Meredith Adamson (Nick), Leah Harley, Jacob Harley; sisters, Bobbie Myers and Rose Brazell (Gary), a very special brother in law, Daniel Hancock, and his three beloved pets; Cindy, Brandy and Toby.
