Keith Metts Obituary

Keith Allen Metts, 51, of North Charleston passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022, after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Journey Community Church, 2539 Old Edisto Dr, Orangeburg.  Pastor Cindy Williams will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, 4977 Cannon Bridge Rd, Cope.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 27, 2022, prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Bennett, David Bennett, David Harley, Chris Lovern, Dennis Bell and Bobby Johnson.

Keith was born on May 20, 1970, in Orangeburg.  He was the son of the late Bobby Metts and Elaine Taylor Bearden.  He was a bus driver for several schools in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.  He enjoyed getting to know his students and their families.  He also enjoyed singing, fishing, and painting.  His love was his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a stepson, Tommy Law.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly J. Metts; children, Ashley Harley (David), Keith Metts, Jr., Brittany Hortenberry (Tiffany); stepson, Joshua Law; grandchildren, Emily Law, Cheyenne Harley, Peighton Harley, Tommy Law, Jr., Jordan Dyer, Colton Harley, Anna James, Shane Chitty; mother, Elaine Taylor Bearden (Clarence); sister, Dawn Bennett (David); brothers, Robert Ireland (Shante), Jeff Ireland; niece, Rachel Bennett; nephew, Ryan Bennett (Meagan); great-nephews, Brantley Bennett and Joey Bennett.
