Ms. Leila Mae “Aunt/Nanny” Jackson, 93, of Orangeburg passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 6, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Columbia Road Church of God. Bishop L. Keith Vaughn will be officiating. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Corbett, Troy Corbett, Brian Corbett, Chad Corbett, Clayton Batts, and Andrew Corbett.
"Aunt/Nanny” was born on November 29, 1924 in Orangeburg. She was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Marie Morris Vaughn. She was the widower of Arthur “Bubba” Jackson. “Aunt” had no children of her own, but through unconditional love and care she became a “mother” and “grandmother” to all who loved her. She loved to dance, fish and watch movies. “Nanny” had a gift of teaching someone how to do things even if she could not do it herself. She was a member of Columbia Road Church of God. “Aunt” was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She is predeceased by four sisters, Vernease Dickson, Nina Meader, Violet Jeffcoat, and Ida Mae Corbett.
She is survived by one sister Shirley Tindall of Eutawville and numerous nieces and nephews.
