Leon Edwards Obituary

Leon Dukes Edwards of Branchville, S.C. passed away March 9, 2024, after an extended illness.

He was born on July 28, 1940, in Branchville S.C., to the late Benjamin Dukes Edwards and the late Ruth Irick Edwards. Leon served his country in the United States Air Force. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Melanie Dawes of Chapel Hill, N.C., Shannon Watford of Orangeburg S.C.; grandsons, Wesley Watford, Griffin Dawes; sisters, Sadie (Reggie) Shuler of Bowman, Ann Epps of Orangeburg; and his four-legged companion, Happy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Doris Baltzegar of Denmark, SC.

At his request, a private service will be held at a later date.
