Leslie “L.W.” Wilson Irick, Jr., 78, of Orangeburg passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg. Rev. Larry Williams, Kenny Kinsey and Scott Whetstone will be officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Elloree.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00P.M. on Monday, April 8,2024 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Homer Whetstone, Kenny Kinsey, Gregg Walling, Frank Bochette, Kendall Jenkins, Jimmy Ray, Mike Zeigler, and Mike Raysor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Thompson, Paul Shuler and Audie Cooper.
Mr. L.W. Was born on June 16,1945 in Orangeburg. He was the son of the late Leslie Wilson Irick, Sr. And the late Mary Netta Price Irick. He was a 1963 graduate of Elloree High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army National Guard. He worked for thirty years with Orangeburg Distributors then went on to work as the Receiving Manager for H.T. Hackney until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elloree. He was also a past member of the Benevolent and Protective order of the Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents,his first wife, Irene Whetstone Irick and a sister, Maribelle Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Knotts Irick of the home; daughter, Beth Kuck (William) of Elloree; son, Chip Irick (Shirley) of Pelion; step-children, David (Hoang) Bannister, Jr., Lisa Winningham (Jonathan); grandchildren, Anna Kate Kuck, Allison Bannister, Tripp Irick, Matthew Bessinger; great-grandchild, Eli Irick; sister, Carole Greene, Doris Giese, Eve Cassem; godchildren, Angela Shuler McMickingand, Scott Caffey, Ashlyn Caffey and a number of nieces and nephews.
