Mary Alice Thompson

Mary Alice Thompson, 74, of Orangeburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Columbia Road Church of God, 2485 Columbia Rd., Orangeburg, S.C. The family will receive friends at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Johnathan Vaughn will be officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Rd., Orangeburg, S.C.

Ms. Thompson was born on March 24, 1949, in Orangeburg, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Fields and the late Mattie Robinson. Ms. Thompson was a member of Columbia Road Church of God in Orangeburg, S.C.  Ms. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Hazel Hancock; brothers, Herman Robinson, Tonie Robinson, and Hydrick Hoffman.

Survivors include her children Lynne Emory, (James), Moncks Corner, Carl “Timmy” Thompson (Wendy), Orangeburg, Rene Black (Todd) Lexington; grandchildren Jeffrey Mixon (Wren), Conway, Stephanie Nix, Orangeburg, Timothy “Buddy” Thompson (Beckett) Branchville, Taylor Russell, Vance, Whitney Cooper (Lance) TX., Ryan Emory, Fla.; seventeen great grandchildren; sister, Rosemary Gartman (Leon), Santee; brother, Thomas Robinson, Orangeburg; sister in-laws, Becky Robinson and Louise Robinson, Orangeburg; a number of nieces and nephews.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Keith Thompson, Jerry Thompson, Brannon Thompson, Dusty Robinson, Don Rider, and Timothy Thompson, Jr.
