Matthew Hoyte Boltin

Matthew Hoyte Boltin, 23, of Ehrhardt passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 7, 2023.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Rev. Henry Cooper will be officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. on Friday, April 14, 2023, prior to the service.

Matthew was born on March 9, 2000, in Orangeburg.  He was the son of the late Hoyte Boltin, Jr. and the late Elizabeth Gamble Searson. He was employed with Edisto Landscaping.  Matthew was an avid sportsman; he would watch most any sports event.  He also enjoyed listening to music and eating.  His passion was his family and spending time with his nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, John and Patricia Gamble and his paternal grandparents, Hoyte, Sr. and Linda Boltin.

Survivors include his siblings, John Searson (Amber), Christopher “Bubba” Boltin , Zachary Boltin, Lauren Halter; aunts, Sharon Boltin Pruitt (Allen), Lynn Gamble and an additional number of family and friends.
