Mike Richard Harley, 78, of North, S.C. passed away on September 12, 2021 after a brief illness.
Mike was born in Neeses, S.C. He was the son of the late Rozen Nell Harley and the late Burly Lee Gray. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mike worked for over 10 years at East End Motors and later at the Department of Public Utilies. He enjoyed being outside and going fishing. Mike loved his family and his church family, but his favorite thing was being a “Poppy.” He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Michael Ray Harley and a son-in-law, Yancy Heyward.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of over 46 years, Shirley Edwards Harley and a special granddaughter, Jasmine Harley both of the home; son, Jessie Harley; daughters, Deborah Heyward, Charlene Harley; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Melissa Harley Hughes and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 6822 North Road, North. Rev. Larry Davis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 560 Jones Bridge Road, North. We will be following the CDC guidelines for COVID-19. Masks will be required. The family asks that if you are not feeling well, please do not attend.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.
Pallbearers will be Mike’s grandsons, Kenneth Peele, Douglas Peele, Yancy Heyward, Jr., Robert Harley, Richard Harley and a granddaughter, Destiny Mitchum.
