Thomas Denver Wolfe, Jr. passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the age of 83 in his home surrounded by a multitude of family members.

The casket will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at  Ebenezer Baptist Church in Cordova.  Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Cordova.  Rev. Brian Self will be officiating assisted by Kenny Baltzegar.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Baltzegar, Tommy Bonnett, Austin Crawley, Julian Cumbee, Larry Cuttino and Eric Judy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Brant, Bill Hair, Billy Wayne Harsey, Wayne McMillian, Owen Ott, Joel Waldrop, Hank Watson and Sammy Watson.

Mr. Wolfe was born February 16, 1935 in Bowman, SC; the son of the late Thomas Denver Wolfe, Sr. and the late Eloise Judy Wolfe. Thomas was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and a member of the Adult 2 Sunday School class. He was employed by Edisto Butane Gas for 42 years. He served as a cook in the Company B 5th Battalion Infantry for the United States Army Reserve for 4 years; Thomas was a black belt in Karate and taught in his own private dojo for 12 years. Thomas was an avid archer, hunter, and fisherman. He could be described as a Jack-of-all-trade; if you wanted to make it, he could do it. In October 1956, Thomas met the love of his life, Shelby Kinsey Wolfe. After a 3-month courtship they were married at Ebenezer Baptist Church on December 6, 1956. During their 62 years of marriage together they had 5 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Arthur Leonard Wolfe and one sister, Demarus Wolfe.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Shelby Kinsey Wolfe of the home; their 5 children; Sheryl (Robert) Dunning of Cordova, SC, Sandy (Wylie) Dubose of South Chesterfield, VA, Thomas (Cindi) Wolfe III of Cordova, SC, Timothy (Rebecca) Wolfe of Cordova, SC and Teddy (April) Wolfe of Branchville, SC.  Thomas was also survived by 18 grandchildren:  Gina (Hoyt) Jameson, Carrie (Kenny) Showman, Rebecca (Jared) Kittrell, Mary Alice Pfeiffer, Caleb (Kelsey) Dunning, Anya (Travis) Becker, Seth (Shanna) Dubose, Austin (Karlin) Dubose, Trenton (Amber) Wolfe, Sable Banks, Logan Banks, Travis (Jessica) Roberson, Lynn (Eric) Judy, Matthew Wolfe, Ivory (Austin) Crawley, Damaris Wolfe, Trevor Wolfe, and Tucker Wolfe; and 26 Great grandchildren: Hannah, Bethany, Rachel  Timothy, Corban, Chloe, Cana, Elizabeth, Naomi, Eden, Nakoda, Noah, Ethan (expected), Levi, Lydia, Leah, Liam, Maggie, Shelby, Trevor, William, Jayce, Timothy James, Saylor, Roman, and Paisley; Extended Honorary Family: John and Wendy Tang, Tiffany Tang, Jessica Tang and Judy Axson; Other Surviving family members; sister-in-law, LaDell Wolfe, brother-in-law, Gerald Kinsey and sister-in-law; Shirley Kinsey.

Friends may call at the residence.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, December 10, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.

Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, New Visions; 3144 Cordova Road, Cordova, SC 29039.
