Vera Mae (Baltzegar) Wood

Mrs. Vera Mae Baltzegar Wood, 84, of Orangeburg passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 569 Berry St in Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.  Rev. Kevin Sprague will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Memorial Church of the Nazarene prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Wood was born on May 31, 1935 in North, S.C.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Baltzegar and the late Myrtle O’Neal Callahan Baltzegar.  Mrs. Wood enjoyed gardening of any kind.  She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Wood; son, William Robert Wood; sisters, Rilla Richards, Margie Goolsby; brothers, Earl Baltzegar, Jefferson Baltzegar and Odell Baltzegar.

Survivors include her children, Glenda “Dale” Sanders (Dean) of Cope, Betty Sanders of Williston, Shirley Payton (Ken) of Cope, Kathy Lovern (Robert) of Cordova, Sylvia Wood of Cope; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Gray (Bobby) of Orangeburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
